Col Sandeep Sudan (RETD.), Head – Special Services Group, Reliance Industries Limited

Sandeep has 29 years of work experience.  Before commencing his corporate journey in early 2008 Sandeep served in the Indian Army for 21 years. He commanded a Mechanized Infantry Battalion in active Counter Insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and held prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments.

Currently he Heads the Special Services Group at Reliance Industries Limited, dealing with fraud risk management, IT network security & information security assurance. Prior to joining Reliance Industries he was Country Director of Pinkerton providing consultancy services pertaining to corporate risk management and was responsible for operations across South Asia. He was also part of Mahindra Special Services Group as Regional Head – North India and Head – Physical Security Practice.

Sandeep has been instrumental in executing several projects dealing with risk assessments, asset protection, crisis management, background checks, information security management system, designing integrated security systems, executive protection, fraud risk management, investigations, change management, business continuity management & disaster recovery. He has worked with all major industry verticals namely Critical Infrastructure, Telecom, IT and IT- enabled services (ITES), Retail, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Pharmaceutical, Real Estate, & Educational Institutions.

Sandeep is a post graduate in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, Army Command and General Staff College, Bangkok (Thailand) and Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (India). He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He is also on the Board of Directors of Security Sector Skill Development Council (SSSDC), which has been set up as part of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), established by Government of India, with a mandate to up skill 150 million people by 2022.
