Judith is an acknowledged visionary in the Philippine ICT space. In 1994 she financed the laying of the PLDT ethernet fiber loop in the Central Business District of Makati Metro Manila and developed the nation’s first 45-storey ICT-ready building, The Peak Tower. Judith is founder and chairman of PHCOLO Inc. the nation’s premier carrier hotel. PHCOLO provides high availability real estate to the Philippine Telecoms Industry and private data centre space to the Banking and Business Process Outsourcing sectors. PHCOLO has a historic 14 year uptime of 99.9999% and is AJA ISO-certified.
Judith is eldest and only daughter to Gilbert M. Duavit, largest shareholder of GMA Network, a publicly held corporation, and the Philippines’ leading media content development company, whose corporate interests include broadcast-radio-international cable-Internet platforms. She has served on the GMA Network board and key subsidiaries for over 2 decades. Her governance responsibilities include memberships in the Audit, Risk Management and Compensation & Remuneration Committees of GMA.
In October 2011, she was elected to the board of ICANN – Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers- the governing body of the global Internet. She is the first Asian Female elected to this august board.
Judith’s first term runs for 3 years, ending October 2014. She is a member of ICANN’s Audit, Risk and Structural Improvements Committees.
She is referred to as the Godmother of the Philippine Internet, and recipient of awards and citations from government and industry.
