Navneet R Wasan Additional Director General at National Investigation Agency

Navneet Rajan Wasan, an Indian Police Service officer, holds a postgraduate degree in International Relations and MPhil from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He later earned Law Degree from University of Delhi and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon.

In his thirty two years of police service, he has served in different capacities in State of Andhra Pradesh, Central Bureau of Investigation and is now working as Additional Director General, National Investigation Agency, New Delhi.

He was decorated with Indian Police Medal in 1996 and with Presidents Police Medal in 2004 for his illustrious service.

After five years of district policing at important towns in State of Andhra Pradesh he was with Central Bureau of Investigation over seventeen years and held major assignments which included supervising investigation of conventional crime, corruption related offences, economic offences and collection of intelligence. He also supervised the functioning of National Central Bureau, India (INTERPOL). He has handling issues related to international cooperation in investigation of criminal cases. He has interacted with several countries on matters of mutual interest.

His major area of interest has been investigation and use of Information Technology in Police functioning. He has made presentation at the meeting of heads of NCBs in 2006 at Interpol Headquarters on need for International Cooperation in Cyber Crime and addressed delegates on issues relating to Cyber Crime Investigation at 1st Cyber Security Conference held at Hong Kong in September 2010.

He is now working as Additional Director with National Investigation Agency, a Federal Investigation Agency where he supervises investigation of terrorist related cases. In present position he is closely involved with Central Authority in handling requests under MLATs and other regional and multilateral agreements.
