Courtney Gregoire, Senior Attorney, Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit
Courtney is a Senior Attorney for Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit focused on combatting cybercrime against the most vulnerable citizens. She also serves as a Commissioner for the Port of Seattle, elected by the citizens of King County. Prior to returning her home State of Washington, she worked in Washington D.C. in senior-level positions for both the legislative and executive branches of government.
Courtney served as the first Director of the National Export Initiative at the U.S. Department of Commerce for President Obama. As Director, Courtney led the Department’s efforts to double U.S. exports by 2015 and support millions of jobs. She was named Deputy Chief of Staff for the Department in 2011. Before joining the Obama Administration, she served as Legislative Director and Chief Counsel for U.S. Senator for Washington State, Maria Cantwell. Courtney began her career at K&L Gates, an international law firm, counseling companies on legislative and regulatory matters.
Courtney received her undergraduate degree from Willamette University magna cum laude and her law degree from Harvard Law School. She proudly serves as a Board Member for the International Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Visit Seattle and the Washington Council on International Trade.
