FIRST VIRTUAL INTERACTIVE SESSION ON INTERMEDIARIES AND THEIR LIABILITIES

This interactive session has been necessitated, given the recent legal developments in the area of legal liability, rights and duties of intermediaries.

With effect from 25th February, 2021, the Government of India has notified the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. These Rules have completely changed the legal landscape as far as compliances by intermediaries in India are concerned. Not only have these Rules repealed the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2011 but more significantly have also mandated new set of compliances for intermediaries.

Under these Rules, all intermediaries and companies who do not comply with these Rules are liable to be punished for offences under the Indian Information Technology Act, 2000 and also under the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

This interactive session will enable you to appreciate the new changed legal frameworks and what all specific requirements are being expected to be followed by your company.  Given the way that these Rules have been so defined in a very broad manner, they are applicable to more than 95% of companies incorporated in India.  This session will not only enable you and your company to understand about the changed compliances but also enable you to clarify your doubts on any issues that you may have on the said changed legal requirements.

In case, if you are interested to attend the aforesaid Virtual Session, please send us an email at info@pavanduggalassociates.com.
