Dr. Rajender Pal Singh is a Senior Police officer of 1987 Batch, UP Cadre, who was until recently, on deputation to the Central Government as Deputy Director General (Operations) in the Narcotics Control Bureau, MHA, New Delhi. Presently, he is the Director General of Police looking after 2 departments – EOW & SIT in U.P. In the past, he has served in various challenging field and desk assignments in U.P.
Dr. Singh has a keen interest in academics. Having earned his Graduate and Post Graduate degrees with Honours at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University (1981- 1986), he joined the IPS in 1987 and went on to do LLB with a Gold Medal in 2006-2009 and Ph.D in 2012-2016.
Dr. Singh has vast experience of participation at many international platforms viz. Washington DC, Geneva, Bangkok, Moscow, Vienna, Lima, Jeju, London, Hanoi, Shanghai etc. Further, he has been deputed by UNODC South Asia Office as a drug expert to train Police and Customs officers in Maldives and Srilanka on drug related subjects in September 2016 and May 2017 respectively.
Dr. Singh is a regular resource person at prestigious Academies/Institutes like NPA Hyderabad, NACIN Faridabad, NICFS, Rohini, NEPA Shillong, and GCTC New Delhi. He has also presented research papers and participated in panel discussions in various international and national conferences and writes for journals and newspapers.
Dr. R.P. Singh has been honored with the following Medals/Awards:-
1) President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services on Independence Day in 2012.
2) Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services by the Hon’ble President of India on Republic Day in 2005.
3) Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak for Outstanding & Meritorious Services by the The Union Home Minister on Independence Day in 2019.
4) Chief Justice’s Medal for meritorious work by the Chief Justice of Hon’ble Allahabad High Court in 1992.
